It's kind of depressing to admit, but: I actually have no idea on how to make a video good or interesting. All I do is ramble incoherently with awkward voice modulation. I don't even know what people would even want to watch.I'm really bad at this. 😞

@sean here's what I dore-watch your own video, when you get bored and want to skip to a different part... just edit out the part you skipped.also what people want can't known untill you make a bunch of random shit

@sean I've indulged in that mood too, and you don't need to be reminded that you're really just recognizing what to improve, coherence and voice. I like Paula Poundstone's method of deliberately grabbing her self-criticism by chanting "I suck, I suck, I suck..." kissing the mood bye-bye...

@sean My personal rule of thumb is that people will watch anything. If someones watching, you have an audience. If you try something new and it's more popular, you've got a bigger audience. What's most important is that you just do it and see what happens. So long as it's not hurting anybody, the only thing that's gone to waste is your own time, which is why it's important that you get some enjoyment out of it. It's also important to remember is if it sounded fun but it wasn't in practice, that's okay too.

Actually I enjoyed your view on the state of the fediverse. Only the background music was too loud.I've always known you as the fediverse community guy and that video proves that you know what's going on and what you're talking about so I wouldn't say you are bad at this but you always can improve ;)

@sean But how do you know that’s not good or interesting? What if you put it out there anyway? For the record, I listened to an interview you did about the fediverse with someone on a podcast a while back and it was in fact very interesting.I would watch videos you post just speaking your thoughts.

@sean It can be a video with just your voice rather than filming yourself talking. Go at your own pace. Enjoy it while you're doing it. Have a basic laid out script and focus on the main points. Try a few takes and choose the one that's interesting to you. Some rambling videos are okay as long as they don't drag on for too long. I hope this helps.
