#ShowerThoughts I wonder if I'm the only one using always-on media to suppress anxiety, the same way some alcoholics drink to suppress their anxiety? I've noticed I now struggle to spend any length of time without music, podcasts, TV shows, or some other background media to fill the part of my attention not fully occupied with whatever I'm actually doing. Especially when it's a boring, routine task.

@strypeyI'm right there with you. For me it's more depression than anxiety but my headphones are always on my head and I find that podcasts give me a mental track to keep my thoughts moored. I never used to be this way as a kid/young man. I could never understand people who always had to have TV or radio on. Look at me now. Although it did get me to start my own podcast so it's not all bad
