Been seeing a lot of linux users in and out of mastodon talk about getting an M1 MacBook and I can't blame them. lolIt is tempting. I have always been jealous of the MacBook Pro's touch bar.Though I think I'll wait for an M1 MacBook Pro that's 14-16" and supports 1440p@75Hz+I also never had anything Apple besides an iPod Nano (5th Gen) so I could wait until there's good Linux support

@JRLarsen what is attractive about the touch bar? I never use it except for changing volume.. is there actually a use case where fn keys didn't suffice?

@benjaminpaikjones It just appeals to meIt looks nice and can change hotkeys depending on the active programFrom what I've heard though, it lacks much customize-ability

From what I've heard, the Esc key there disappeared randomly and you have to reboot your Mac.@JRLarsen @benjaminpaikjones

@JRLarsen A faster, affordable laptop where all the hardware just works. It does sound appealing. Minus the touch bar!
