Computer ppl, I need you to tell me stuffSooooI'm thinking about giving away my old phone, maybe just putting it into a public bookcaseBut my mom is worried that, even if i format it, people can still recover some data. Her reasoning was that cops can recover things you have deleted. Is this a thing? What would I have to do to *completely* get rid of my personal data on my old phone?

@ijyx @photonicfae ideally, you would completely wipe it and flash it with a (perhaps stock) ROM.Now, you won't be absolved of anything associated with any of the serial numbers, the IMEI etc... But you'd have a pretty clean slate.
