@ghostofColGlover Caught me flat-footed mate. I'm not sure if there are any old mill pictures from Down Here. Doubtful there'd be any on streams or rivers. From memory I think most of our old mills would have been horse-drawn. Now you've got me curious and I'll have to search.

@ghostofColGlover I always have that thought when I see old structures. Imagine the stories that 'blah' could tell. Whether it be an old crumbling building, or just a lonesome old fireplace/chimney still standing where the house used to be,,,,

@ghostofColGlover A lot from Asia now, however we did have a very busy timber industry for many decades after settlement and into the 1900's. We now have good numbers of timber plantations, though the majority are growing pine.

@ghostofColGlover Haven't really seen a spike. Timber prices have always been steady enough, even though I think they are a bit high. In this area where I live, a lot of steel framing is being used because of a bad termite problem. Hardwood reclaimed from old buildings is often used for feature work. ie. Old hardwood floorboards often used for benchtops and pantry cupboards etc.

@ghostofColGlover @Davel495 My wife's not a hoarder but she is a sucker for discarded junk. And I'm a sucker for making old and broken things like new again.I don't care what the original value was, it could be a cheap 50 cent toy, it's catharsis for me and I can fix almost anything.This bamboo lampshade was her latest pick from a neighbor's trash. It's restored now, I'll have it hanging and looking nice tomorrow.

@ghostofColGlover @Davel495 Yes, the charger that comes with it charges two other things. I have a little charging station set up for 3V, 5V, and 12V, each having a universal plug size for a given voltage. Very handy!

@ghostofColGlover @Davel495 Vietnamese are sold on hot glue guns, rubber cement, and 502 superglue. You can buy all of them practically everywhere, including most convenience stores. Almost everything I need is within a block of my house. Nice walk, more catharsis!

Police, police tape and barricades popping up everywhere.All neighbors in a panic telling my wife and I to rush out and by 12 day's worth of food and supplies. Local stores still open have distancing requirements and long waiting lines to get in.We drove out to a more distant store and stocked up early this morning.Lock us down, we're all set. Send me to my room, see if I care!
