She claims to be a lesbian radfem, but she says other GCs/Radfems have victim blamed blamed her? I’ve never come across such radfems. IHas this been your experience? Do you think she is a TRA “infiltrating” the GC movement to give it a bad rep?

@Mex_Tattie I have never read anything about radfems behaving that way. Some are harsher than others, sure, but against men.Victimblaming etc are tools of the patriarchy to keep women down.

@Mex_Tattie I’m not a radical feminist, and no one here has treated me the way this woman (?) describes being treated. I sympathize with dysphoria sufferers, and while some radfems may not (especially if the dysphoric person is male), I’ve never been called a traitor.Blaming rape victims is pretty much the exact opposite of radical feminism, and I’ve never seen it.I think, on both sides, we need to leave room for the possibility that some people we encounter online are dishonest, possibly with entirely made-up identities.

@Cousin_Isobel @Mex_Tattie I've never seen this behaviour from rad fems. I have seen some hardliners who might be a bit harsh in views about men but not rape victims.

@Mex_Tattie I wonder if the people she thinks are radfems think of themselves as radfems, or if she is agreeing with the “terf” label and automatically assumes the person being labeled a terf is actually a radfem. That all makes more sense in my head than I’m able to put into words. We all know most people called “terf” aren’t radfems, some of them aren’t even feminists, but there are definitely people out there who do not know that.

@MandyJane @Mex_Tattie I agree, online the boundaries are very blurred. Take the Mumsnet FWR board for example, in theory it leans radfem (and of course it’s considered TERF central) but literally anyone can post there and they do. So in any kind of long thread about abuse inevitably you’ll get a few people victim blaming none of whom are likely be RF. You can’t extrapolate that to ‘loads of radfems are like this’ although I can see why someone on the receiving end might do so.A while back when that David Starkey racism incident blew up I saw people on Twitter calling the uber conservative pundit and youtuber Darren Grimes a TERF. I mean come on!!!I have no idea if her experiences are genuine or not but i’ve never met anyone so far in real life groups like this.
