The quality of most the writing is like it was written by an accountant compared to the ‘Tales of Gilgamesh’ (which I guess was more likely written by an actual accountant in reality though?)

The teacher said maybe god actually wanted them to eat it. I remember thinking ‘wow. God is a dick.’ But not in those words because I was 4.😆

That's the one thing that makes Judaism have some redeeming qualities compared to the other two Abrahamic religions, Christianity and Islam. Basically if you strip out all the arbitrary rules in Deuteronomy, you end up with humanism.

A dad joke. Because I would usually toss a quarter or 50 cents in!! Luckily, I was not subjected to the horrors of anti-intellectual Bible thumpers, as we were Presbyterian. It may have had something to do with the Scots-Irish on mom's side of the family, but I am not sure. I thought Scots-Irish were busy oppressing Irishmen and attempting to make dour Presbyterians out of them. I could be wrong.
