       One of my classmates has kept in contact with me for years after graduation. We have several differences that he adores Mao and supports authoritarianism while I don't. But we commonly think capitalism is really harmful. We often discuss social issues (initiated by him mostly) peacefully and try to influence each other. Recently when I told him I was applying to a school abroad, he became alert and warned me to prevent being brainwashed by the school if I was admitted.

       我有一个同学在毕业后几年里一直与我保持联系。我们有许多不同。他崇拜毛，而且支持威权主义，而我不是。不过我们都认为资本主义是有害的。我们经常尽量平和地讨论社会问题（大多数是他发起的）并尝试影响对方。最近当我告诉他我在申请国外学校时，他变得很警觉，提醒我入学以后小心被学校洗脑。我从来没想过他会相信这种阴谋论，因为我都给他展示了中国政府封杀了那么多报道以封锁包括毛主义者在内的反抗者的声音。或许我不应该对他彻底分享我的观点，以防有一天他认为我是间谍然后“大义灭亲”举报我。

       I have never thought that he believed those conspiracies since I have shown him that reports had been heavily supposed by the Chinese government to block the speech of righteous protesters including radical Maoists. Maybe I should not share my opinion thoroughly afterward in case one day he regards me as a spy and reports me to the police to demonstrate his loyalty.
