@watch4thedrop Drop, I stopped at Kroger today just to get some ginger beer (store brand is the best). I found myself over in the salami & cheese department looking for that solopressa or whatever salami it was and also picked out 3 untried boarshead cheeses. Then I wandered over into the wine dept looking for the wine (malbec) but I had to search until my eyes landed on a bottle of malbec in order to remember the kind of wine to get.

@EarlThePearls Donât call a Nicaraguan a Mexican. Made that mistake after they help me during Hurricane Florence when it took my roof off. That family was the only people who would get out and help me. Everyone else told me tomorrow after it cleared up. @stephanieanne I didnât say it didnât bother me. But times were different back then. I grew up less than 20 miles from Pekin and drove by the âChink Rinkâ every day on my way to work. What was done back then would be labeled <gasp!> âcultural appropriationâ today no matter the intent of those using the term. It only became a big deal in the 1970âs. The point being, we cannot and should not judge the behavior of those in generations past by todayâs standards.

@watch4thedrop @spinmaven @stephanieanne I have a friend from Shanghai who heard a black lady call him a chink in an Austin bar, though not to his face. He bristled, probably worried we might get jumped, I asked him on the way out if I was a white devil or a hungry ghost or a ghost man & was he currently standing under Heaven so he said "yeah, she'd hear worse if she was where I'm from, probably In bad English. ." Better to focus on the malicious ones over crude insensitive ones.
