Can someone please double check an observation I made on Artix Linux. It seems that quite a lot of packages had been removed from the repo that was there a few months ago. Anyway, the packages that I know of, are:Audaciouscmusdeadbeef

@fatboy Its bin a while since I used Artix but I still follow the RSS feed. Could the missing packages have something to do with their recent announcement? https://artixlinux.org/news.php#Arch_repositories_made_optional

@mmk2410 @fatboy It has to do with the recent new. Repositories from Archlinux now are optional. You have to install the package "artix-archlinux-support" and enable the repositories in pacman.conf.

@fatboy @mmk2410 I didn't use to but I started watching them since the change of s6 config files. I "fucked up" the system without realised.

@jrballesteros05 @mmk2410 so I did what I had to according to the wiki, but still no luck. I can't find/query nnn, cmus etc via pacman

@fatboy @mmk2410 I installed the package and I just added the repositories below the other ones.[extra]Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-arch[community]Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-archBe careful about the mirrorlist, I made a mistake because I was pointing to Artixlinux instead of Arch ones.I will open a thread in the forum to change in the wiki.

@jrballesteros05 @mmk2410 Personally, I prefer using the distro's repo. I can't help but think that having repos where duplicate software is stored is going to cause a lot of issues.Where is Artix's package search page?

@fatboy @mmk2410 if you add the Archlinux repositories below the artix one you won't have any problem. If a package is in both repositories the system is going to install the artix one by default. I agree that it's better to have only Artix repositories. But the option they officially support extra and community repositories. So, at the moment enabling then is safe. In my case I need them.

@fatboy @jrballesteros05 @mmk2410 If it's available in Artix's repos, then the Artix repos will always be used over Arch's. They do it like that so that they can have a lower maintenance burden (fewer packages to maintain) and have lower server costs for packages that would be basically just copied from Arch anyways. They make sure to have Artix versions for any packages that may be incompatible (ones that use systemd, etc), so you don't have to worry about the Arch repos breaking the system.Oh yeah, they have all their PKGBUILDs here: https://gitea.artixlinux.org/artixlinux/packages

@nytpu @jrballesteros05 @mmk2410 Oh, that's pretty awesome and sounds like a smart choice. I'll give it a go! Thanks
