@ButchSupremacist that's why the hard Calvinist position is the most sensible one: you just go to hell, and the only way you can avoid that is if you're lucky enough for God to choose you not to because no one deserves Heaven.

@Raunchel @ButchSupremacist even being raised christian I was only introduced to Calvinism in an English class. Luckily I knew by then how ridiculous it was but growing up I was terrified of going to hell and I think my psyche is forever damaged 😆 I'm still a Christian but if I raise children I will do it so differently. Sunday school can do a lot of harm.

@ButchSupremacist yes and anyone who takes the bible seriously should know what you mean. I'm not an expert but I've been reading it all my life and I think the best way to start is to look at the ideas that come up over and over (money, forgiveness, prayer). The things that come up once or twice are impossible to interpret by yourself.

@Piss_Ant @ButchSupremacist for me, Christianity is something that has fortunately been removed from my day to day life, even if my family doesn't know. Telling them that would end any and all relationship. My girls also don't get bothered with that stuff, and they're all from different backgrounds anyways.I still have a huge guilt complex, but I hope that one day it will fade.

@Raunchel @ButchSupremacist my cousins that are no longer personally religious have the same guilt complex. One of them told me she just couldn't handle it anymore. I hope it fades for you one day ❤️
