@urusan Useful tool. Not great and not not great. Like any other tool, has its place. People thought it was the shit and tried to use it for everything and got burned and now they think it's crap for all use cases.Like my mother driving in sub-zero temperatures. Turn the heat full blast until everybody's sweating, then turn it all the way off until everybody's frigid and there's ice forming on the inside of the windows. Then turn it up full blast again, window ice becomes a sauna,

@urusan I like containers for CI/CD, easy deployment, K8s, etc. I would not use them for all workloads. I would not name my children Docker, Rkt, and Singularity.Well. TBH I could definitely see myself naming my dogs Rkt and Singularity.

@urusan paradoxically, 1 and 4. It makes everything easier and lowers the barrier to entry, but abstraction is a mixed blessing.

@urusan My biggest complaint is that two or three separate things get conflated together. If we broke them apart I'd say:Kernel namespaces and other forms of isolation and fine grained permissions: Best thing since sliced bread.Distribution format where something carries all its dependencies: Meh.Various management tools built around the previous two notions: Useful tool
