@svenpai If I had to boil it down to a single fundamental reason, I would say it was the fact that, from the very beginning, the Apostles' made it explicitly clear that the entire world was granted salvation (ie: salvation was not exclusive to Jews). Had they said the opposite, I don't think the Christianization of Europe would have been possible.

He brought them out of the wilderness, gave them a law, have the a homeland, gave them judges and then kings. However despite all this the Jews would fail many times and abandon God for other gods. They were exiled twice in the old testament, from the holy land as a result.Now God did not give the Jews a homeland because they deserved it, but so that they might be a light to the nations. Even in this they failed.Yet their failures aren’t Gods failures and despite all of their kikery, the Lord brings forth from them a woman pure enough to bear the Son of God. This is the Virgin Mary.That’s if, that’s the whole culmination of the Jewish project. Christ is born, the prophesized messiah. He comes first to the Jews, but he was never meant to be theirs alone. Because Rome (Byzantium) was Christian at the time, it was seen as a political bonus, for a king to be of the same faith as the Emperor. The best answer is that Christians truly believed it and pushed it till it took. A better question is why Europeans believed it and Indians did not? Apostles went to every corner they could get to. Before age of exploration only peoples that believed in Christ were Europeans, a diminishing number of Middle Easterners (Islam took over) and... Ethiopians. Nobody else cared.
