It's part of the genius of the slogan "Make America Great Again" that Donald Trump effectively positioned the Democrats as anti-American, and antagonized them into revealing their worst tendencies. They won't even pretend anymore.

@darulharb Some guy from Great Britain asked me why I wasn’t interested in other countries. He couldn’t believe I could care less to travel to Europe. I told him I still hadn’t travel to most states in the USA and I just wasn’t interested in how other countries did things. So far, I haven’t seen anything to make me wish I could travel overseas. #SorryNotSorry

@Debbie742 Americans are certainly criticized for provincialism, but until foreigners have been here, it's sometimes difficult for them to imagine what it's actually like, especially given the distorting effects of American movies and media. The sheer size of the country, for example. It's one thing to see it on a map, and another to drive for hours in the West, or for that matter, just inside Yellowstone Park! (A Chinese friend was amazed by how much land is not being used for anything.)

@darulharb Thanks for posting. It reminded me that my flag is getting faded and needs to be replaced...just ordered a new one.

@Clayrjr @Debbie742 @darulharb Feel very sorry for Americans when accused of provincialism, and point out that I have never been to the U.S. either, because of the distance, because of the expense, the whole airport experience is so horrible now that foreign travel has lost some of it's allure. That being said, when you sit and drink coffee and look across the road at the Colosseum, and think, Wow, that's actually the Colosseum? That makes it almost worth the hassle.
