I was under a hell of a lot of stress at the time.Drinking enough booze to float an aircraft carrier.See, I was two years away from graduating and had no idea what I was going to do in my life.It's weird to look back on that version of me.I remember all of it, but I feel almost no connection to that version of me.He was deeply into the drama of it all, the way young people often are.My problems were real, but I didn't know HOW real.

I didn't know what I was going to do, either. I would not want to be in my 20s ever again. I couldn't wait to turn 40. Past 60 has its health risks, but be young and in my 20s again? no thank you.

The seeds were set way before then, of course.Alcohol and drugs played a role in that, of course, a sign of the times, I think. I took a tablespoon of cough medicine with ephedrine in it before I went to have the picture taken (it has since been made illegal in OTC cough medicines.) My eyes looked exactly like that. @DuaneCates Duane - based on sales here in SW FL - skatey eight bazillion are moving to Collier and Lee Counties. I welcome all the newcomers and of course I benefit as a realtor. There is a group of sourpusses who don't share my enthusiasm. The types who got theirs so - NIMBY. Collier has little chance of urbanizing because a high portion of land has been set aside for preservation. New development will be clustered to preserve the aquifer.

@ThomasWic Strange that you mention the childishness of full-grown adults...I've noticed it as well, and it's strange to see how it's catered to & fostered - "reality" shows, cartoonish ads on TV but aimed at adults (cancer Tx, life ins., retirement strategies etc) & cell ph games.I missed it for who-knows how long since I never watch the💩but lately, I've been exposed to it in a family member's home as I'm caring for them.Truly grotesque, this degradation of adulthood. Everyone acts 14yrs old!

@ThomasWic I understand that a few weeks ago Antifa came to Vancouver, WA and tried their same tactics that worked in Portland. Seems that men in Vancouver are much different than "men" in Portland and Antifa ran across the river with their tail between their legs.Stand up to a bully and the bully will always back down.Rules of the Playground hold true even as adults.
