       I'm interested in a #Librem Mini from @purism, but I'm in #Europe.Does anyone know European resellers? Or alternatively some similar hardware that is easier to get in Europe?

       @jon @orionwl @purism They'll ship it, but you have to work out import duties etc. I recently paid 85 euros in "import duty handling fees" to DHL and here in #Portugal all the shipping companies have a cartel to charge outrageous handling fees. I paid a 30 euros handling fee on a 5 EUR tax charge for a 25 euro book.

       @stevenroose @orionwl @purism ugh :/ i recall having those too, in addition to 20% VAT added to the declared value to be paid before the package would be releasedi haven't bought any tech gear since several years now, so problem "solved"

       @jon @orionwl @purism I mostly have the problem with books, the UK has a lot of book sellers for English-language books (no surprise), both new and second hand.

       @jon I can probably get them without issue from #Amazon Spain. Well not second hand. I'm not an Amazon fan though. I avoid it whenever possible.

       @jon But yeah it seems they did an amazing job lobbying the EU. All small-time publishers or even stores go out of business because of this. I just can't buy anything outside of the EU without getting ripped by taxes and random charges.
