I really don’t like the word or even concept ‘illegal immigrant’.. Like some hoomans should have the ‘rights’ to be somewhere on OUR planet while others don’t? I really think humanity needs to grow up. Building stupid ‘border walls’ what’s the hell is wrong with us..

@stux Iirc the social identity theory which I recently studied a bit provides some explanation to this divideDoesn't help either that right wing populists keep yelling about how "they steal our jobs" and stuff, which further reinforces the creation of an in-group and an out-group, subconsciously affecting even those who may not like or listen to those populists, probably due to social cognitive theoryI am definitely still not in psychology exam mode from a couple hours ago (/s)

@stux @EnglishDry284 well the USA, China and Russia could (and Russia did) build space stations on their own, there's just not been a strategic value in doing it. they tend to just build weapons platforms (Japan) instead.

@EnglishDry284 That is certainly true!♥️😸 and those groups are fine and good even, I’m more worried about the uh.. ‘bigger groups’ where people are more and more split apart. It could be my personal experience but I get the feeling people tend to become less unified the past years(maybe a COVID thing) it’s not like a world war or anything luckily but i wonder where it leads us eventually♥️

@stux I particularly envision society running in many, widely spread, self supporting towns. The largest a town would be is a hundred or two hundred people. Naturally this would reduce the burden on nature.

@stux Of course they are! There's a lot of that in this country, but that's everywhere to some degree. I call it out when I see it as much as I can, but it's up to the individuals to change, and that's the really hard part.
