These past few days away from social media have been good for me. They've given me the chance to better understand myself, and what being a child lover means to me.I'd begun to feel uncomfortable with how preoccupied many MAPs, myself included, are with the topic of sex. I still have a lot of internalized negativity towards the topic, and admittedly it's hard not to feel a bit gross when that's the only thing on my mind. But sex isn't all there is to love, not by a long shot.My desire is to fall in love, to share a precious closeness with someone I care dearly about. That wholesome, gentle relationship is my life's dream. Sex is subordinate to that. I still wholeheartedly support the sexual aspect of adult-child relationships, but for me personally, that's not even close to what matters most to me. I want to embrace that self-image as an honest and true child lover, who loves every part of their special someone, not just the sexual aspects.

@halos I completely agree, sex gets over-represented by antis (and frankly by many MAPs as well), and the romantic aspect very often gets brushed aside. This just helps the antis more, in portraying MAPs as predators whose only interest is hurting children.Sadly, this extends to pedo-themed media, too. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find wholesome child-love romance stories, even in the generally pedo-friendly Japan.

@flipside_valentine @halos @nahotakamiya politically, i think we actually need to face this head on: as long as our opponents can accuse us of pussyfooting around the "real" problem of adult-child sex, we will lack credibility. we have to insist that sex is good actually, yes including for children, yes we really mean it. otherwise no one will be able to hear the other important things we have to say, namely all the other aspects of youth-love besides sex.

@hoakelenli @flipside_valentine @halos We also need to no longer retaliate and be ready to back these statements through armed means as necessary since, regardless of how right we might be, there will continue to be attempts of people demonising and therefore use the entire system in attempt to criminalise our acts or to find excuses to criminalise us and achieve censorship and disruption to our organisations. The people who make such attempts should answer to our guns.

@flipside_valentine @halos @hoakelenli They will do that regardless as they did with the gays during their liberation efforts, which, as with us, required they used weapons as means to protect themselves. Protecting ourselves or not, will still lead them to calling us stuff we are not. The difference is that one leads to our institutionalisation, as is now, and the other enables us to defend ourselves.

Well, there was violent resistance against cops there. And that was the turning point of the gay rights movement, when society had to start taking them seriously. Wonder why.
