Is having a monero wallet actually worth it or is it just a meme? Wrong answers only please.

@cidoku I don’t really know many things that can be bought with Monero at the moment apart from drugs and VPNs, but I own a few because I see a future where goverments ban cash purchases and Monero would replace that

@wageslave Guess it's better to have some than not, just in case (even though I have no fucking idea where I'd even get any monero).

@cidoku The only truly anonymous ways to acquire XMR is either mining through tor or buying from someone else and paying with cash. Other ways to get some at the expense of some degree of anonimity is converting BTC/USDT to XMR through an exchange or buying some via localmonero.co

@wageslave @cidoku You can probably tumble them, same as Bitcoins, yeah?Or no?I actually don't know much about XMR.

@admin @cidoku Mixing/Tumbling is needless in XMR, the ledger has no visible information about the quantity or the involved parties in a transaction.

@wageslave @cidoku does that mean a hypothetical ban on crypto by the government would not affect monero? I'm new to this.

@Irie @cidoku Yeah, a crypto ban would be very hard to enforce on Monero, though I won’t say impossible because people can make mistakes.
