@crisp @borzoi @graf @Wyatt I remember back around 2016 just perusing by the "old chan was better" posts and thinking, "ah, well, it is what it is. Old posters will be old posters." But little did I know that 2016 4chan with the arrival of the tourists would be a golden age compared to the bot and alphabet agency board spamming of 2021. No longer are there 2-3 separate NSG or SIG threads, or threads about fascism or old photos. Instead there are at least 7 threads with coombait, 8 threads that are slide threads, and 9 threads that have nothing to do with news or politics. That's at least on /pol/ last I checked (though I heard recent developments in the Shekelands have improved the post quality temporarily). Same can be said for /v/, which I glance at now as a general distraction from coding or writing.

There is no culture hub like 4ch used to be.16chan.xyz/pol/ has some activity, but we're pretty atomized now. Coincidentally the takedown of 8ch lined up with a massive crackdown on facebook/twitter/etcPoa.st is pretty good, but hellthreads are unwieldy. Gonna need an image board renaissance soon
