       i'm starting to view a.w more as an experiment rather than as something that will last foreverto be clear, i still believe in fedi and want to invest my time into it, but i'll most likely replace a.w with another thing one day. i want to write my own AP software because i dont like pleroma, and in some ways i still view that as an experiment as well. lain wanted to do this for fun but he barely knew anything about best development practices, so now we're all left to deal with the mistakes that have been baked into pleroma's development process, and into pleroma itself.i also don't believe in public registration services, and that belief is growing as time goes on. i don't think it's sustainable for federated platforms. i would like to continue on here with an instance i'll host under https://volatile.bz/ and require the same registration procedure that all my other services require. this way, the service is donor-funded, users can have their same account handle and credentials across all the services on there, and i dont have to deal nearly as much with the headache of approving people who may just want to spam or break rules.a.w won't be going away for a while, but i anticipate that i'll let it go after a year or so, once i've set up something more permanent. a lot of people from this instance have used this as a way to try out fedi, or as a temporary or backup account for when they had nowhere else to camp, and many of them have since moved to other instances or created their own. so, i've done my part to increase adoption of this platform.

       @wowaname it started as trying out fedi, on a handle barely anyone remembers, but i've quickly warmed up to it and and joined the second time proper. i'm thankful for letting me put out there 13K pieces of my mind.i'll be around when it all ends, failgetting still
