The speed at which Dr. drew this diagram and notes suggested that he'd done it thousands of times.Here's what's not noted:1) Stage 2 or 3 at worst. No spreading. Liver, kidneys, lungs, etc., all appear clean and unaffected. We caught it early.2) I check in next Tuesday, operation tentatively scheduled for Thursday morning, with one week recovery. No colostomy bag *whew!* (and sorry if that created a visual).

ADDENDUM IIMy new surgeon friend doesn't know it yet but he's about to become a test student - the object of some very intense focus.At HIS leisure. He said he's ready to WORK AT IT. I'm taking him at his word. When he's finished with my body pathology I'm starting on in his speech pathology. I plan to work some substantial BEFORE/AFTER magic on his speaking voice. @StevenDouglas Good you avoit it, but its a standard procedure and I have seen many people, where it only lasted very short time and was then reversed. Very good you have such a good relation to Dr. Tien. My grandfather was a dedicated surgeon, so I love good surgeons. They do an incredible work.

The tumor was on the outside of the colon and would have never been discovered if my appendix had not burst. Doc said I had won the lottery. @selah18 My symptoms for nicotine withdrawal are simple: a) sleepiness or b) extremely excitable/irritable if I can't get sleep (or the next cigarette).I will sleep like there's no tomorrow. Can't wait to be free of the physical effects. I know how to change ALL of my patterns to upset the habitual/psychological dependency. Another upside-not-down: Coffee's toast after this. At least for a year. So, even more sleepy. Like a baby.

@Lolosmom Thank you.When I sent out a GoFundMe SOS for my son, who needed open heart surgery two years ago, I was FLOORED by the many thousands who responded. It was MANY TIMES what we thought we might need. In the end it was very close to exactly what we needed, as recovery in Florida was the biggest expense by far. I GREATLY appreciate knowing that my six is covered. That's A LOT. I can move freely forward with great conviction knowing it's there if needed, and love that it may not be.

Last Fall, after Covid calmed down, I made colonoscopy appointments for myself and husband since he was way overdue from his last appointment in which he had 9 polyps removed.Nurse told me they found polyps in him this time that were “not small” and hoped we came in soon enough. Thank goodness they were removed and not cancerous. Please go get checked everyone.

@StevenDouglas They made my husband "re-test" before his surgery. He had to pee all day in a jug. I was disappointed - Oh I guess we'll have to stay at our hotel room". Him - "Watch." He took a tourist bag, inserted the jug and we went sightseeing in St. Augustine (including a flight of craft beers). "Joyce the beer will help me pee". We giggled all afternoon.

@StevenDouglas There have been many times where I've felt bad for highly intelligent people who have been speaking English for years, but have accents that are so strong that it detracts from their ability to communicate. I love Melania Trump, but she is one of these people. There is also a Catholic priest we know who is from Ghana - same thing. I've asked myself, "Isn't there some type of one-on-one coaching that could help them improve their accents?"

@jacksabbath Raising intelligibility is difficult for MOST foreign language teachers. They don't do much more than speak and ask students to parrot as best they can.Then habits take over because muscle memory is a powerful thing. These teachers don't usually take the time to understand the relatively few KEY habits that non-native speakers bring into the new language they end up butchering. Have to go slow, conquering, mastering each sound one at a time until there's not much left.

Steven shared that his sister set up a gofundme to help with his medical bills because his insurance won't cover a lot of his care. @StevenDouglas I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October, 2018 and had bilateral mastectomy in January of 2019 to avoid chemotherapy and radiation and all the pills that go along with them. The cancer was stage zero.No regrets. #PrayedAndPraying for all of you.
