@FirePrancer all highs are different. ive had caffeine, nicotine, dxm, antihistamines (see below), nutmeg (decided to try it one day but it isnt worth it because dosage is so much and intermediate effects suck), lsd, and an OTC medication that functioned for me as a stimulant once because i took it wrong lmaoive had alcohol too but that doesnt really feel like a high. theres a reason people use other words for it. but everything else ive taken has at least some sort of high, and since all those drugs have different complementary effects, they exhibit themselves wildly different. even psychedelics such as lsd have body highs, more noticeable at lower doses; at trip doses it fucks with your perception so much that you dont feel the highim open to trying other psychedelics and stimulants, maybe dissociatives, possibly even deliriants in the far future. avoiding opiates, dont really have strong interest and dont want to risk the abuse potentialits funny about deliriants; im extremely psychosensitive to therapeutic doses of dph (benadryl) or any other antihistamine. i did intentionally try to recreationally use dph once but didnt get the dosage high enough before giving up (thankfully), pretty sure it mostly gave me a heavy body sensation and nothing else. at doses for my allergies, though, cetirizine (zyrtec) is something i *cannot* take, i get suicidal ideations, a really deliriant mindset, and heavy drowsiness. i have to take zyrtec-d (which is cetirizine + something else i cant remember now) and sometimes i still get deliriant effects but theyre much milder. ive had mild hallucinations at least once off dph too and it was terrifyingand you might be asking why im still curious about deliriants despite my prior experience with the drug class, and despite it not sounding like a good time. for me, psychoactive drugs are more for learning about myself, which is why i typically avoid "uninteresting" drugs. i do admit i benefit from stimulants though (mostly just caffeine you would find in a coffee, nothing crazy) and it isnt just because of the wakefulness, but i feel like it improves my mood as wellstill have yet to try cannabis, thats next on my list. never experienced a stoner high

@FirePrancer dxm you can get OTC in cough syrup, but for many reasons, i cannot recommend it in good faith. the high was uninteresting as fuck anyway, it also fucks with your memory to the point where your thoughts feel like soup. i ended up lying in bed for most of it.i hear at higher doses than what i took, you can trip off it, but i hear just as many stories about bad dxm trips, that for now i just want to avoid it

@wowaname Coffee just makes my heart rate faster, to be honest. Sugar is also a drug, as I have learned in a documentary, and sugar just makes me want more of it.

@FirePrancer sugar alters your blood glucose levels. sugar crashes result from blood sugar lowering (hypoglycemia) and your body trying to recover from thatreading more about sugar addiction and i do see what theyre saying about sugar's interaction with dopamine receptors, which is interesting. i'd still hesitate to call sugar a drug, thoughi dont even have much of a sweet tooth now
