So people will have no reason not to gravitate towards what their temperament dictates. I don’t think many people will want to be these exotic genders. Oh they’ll exist, they just won’t be the norm.

It’s the rule our instincts inscribed on us to make sure things work out for the best they possibly can. Now, I can offer charity to outsiders (if they’re not rabid dogs who will repay me with violence) even if they’re not directly reciprocal because my line benefits from having a variety of slightly different cultures and worldviews so the species can adapt to a changing environment. But I can’t legitimately take responsibility for other people before I take responsibility for my own. I can’t legitimately sacrifice my own line for another because if I do someone like me won’t be there for them the next time they need a sacrifice.
