This is the last week with my current employer, I finish on Thursday (13th). I'm feeling kind of bad, as lots of people have said nice things about me, including my boss.Unfortunately, my new employer was really keen for me to start ASAP. Consequently, my first day is on Friday. So, no rest for the wicked.

One of the big changes (other than the job itself) will be the requirement to wear a suit for work. I haven't done that for a long time.In fact, I've spent quite a lot of time, and money, buying new clothing. I'll also have to iron shirts, just imagine that.

@fitheach If I remember correctly, it's written on the wardrobe of an elderly Edwardian gentleman and freethinker who worked as a journalist and it's meant in a general way, not specifically relating to business.

@fitheach I used to wear proper trousers and a jacket and tie to work back in my twenties. I felt lucky b/c the ibm and ncr guys had to wear 3 pc suits and white shirts. Oh, and the xerox guys. White shirts to work on photocopiers...

@gemlog I actually like wearing three-piece suits; I'm a fan of waistcoats. I'll be wearing a three-piece on Friday.I don't like wearing ties, and if you work on machinery, they can be dangerous.

@fitheach I always thought it was Mr. Emerson senior's wardrobe, but you might be right, could be Emerson junior's. Must watch the film again, with an adorable Maggie Smith as old maid.
