@Chronic-Yonic No it will not. Every kitchen gadget I’ve ever bought just turned me into someone who can’t be bothered to learn how to use it and doesn’t want to clean it after attempting to use it. Sky Daddy gave us ordinary pots, pans and utensils for a reason.

@Chronic-Yonic @B_Reasonable i have quite a lot of kitchen gadgets (though not a slow cooker) and i do use all of them... have been looking at slow cookers but think for a vegetarian, not that useful. Air fryers tho.....

@grace_hawthorn @B_Reasonable Well I think a slow cooker for me would be more practical simply because I could also use it to steam veggies and rice but I have to chose a model that would allow me to do that. I usually steam my veggies but I'm no sick and tired of using a *marguerite* (word in English?)But air fryers for sure are a lot less harmful for your health than deep fryers

@Chronic-Yonic @B_Reasonable i think just a 'steamer' ... and yes, it does get dull. def worth looking into and i can see the point for meat-eaters and the potential for lovely slow stews etc.the other thing is i have a wood-burner with an oven in the top, so when i'm making chilli or something like that in the winter, i do it in that with baked potatoes. no control over the heat, obvs, but works beautifully

@Chronic-Yonic @B_Reasonable @grace_hawthorn I got a small, cheap one from Maxi. I didn't want a full-sized one since I only cook for one. I think it was under 20$. It's a bit of a problem finding/adjusting recipes for it but it works fine. Dump a bunch of stuff in before work, come home to a hot meal.

@Chronic-Yonic @B_Reasonable @GrumpyOldNurse no i haven't, do i need it? 🤣 i have been very adventurous with this one - it's high-end, fiddly, restauranty veggie food and while it's absolutely not an everyday thing, i've loved making things from it. also def a 2-person activity because you need someone with you to say 'does this look alright? what do you think? what does this mean?' to regularly....It's an extremely well-written cookbook though, even to the detail of listing the ingredients in the order you're going to use them so you don't get any surprises. And broken into sections for each element. @Chronic-Yonic @grace_hawthorn @B_Reasonable @GrumpyOldNurse I like my slow cooker, it's a basic one from the supermarket, I mainly slow cook beef in it, but it's great at that. I've read you can cook cakes in it, but haven't tried yet. My favourite things are:Beef ragu, beef/pork/chicken burrito meat, stew.I find it useful to set up the night before and thrn just turn on before work.Loads of recipes on Pinterest etc, main point is don't overload with water/wet ingredients as it doesn't evaporate as much as food cooked on the hob.
