@kayden @Mia imo /bin should be for very base packages like which are default for the system and /usr/bin should be for the package manager (this is how alpine handles it)It makes things much easier when you want to say bootstrap a new system or create a root in a ramfs

@kayden @Mia but like it has deps on flatpak stuff and it's not a single thing for a single purpose so you get a bunch of bloat you don't want and anyway it should just be a an openfile binary or something that just gives a filename imo (so yoi can create a cli for example)

@meeper@outerheaven.club @Mia@disqordia.space I could see it being like an open file binary but that isn't as programmatically clean as an IPC call (dbus still kinda sucks so w/e), and most stuff already has dbus bindings making some other library to do the same thing a not so tempting option

@Mia @kayden one thing is that people make stupid subsystems which have an interface completely differnt to that of the system and it's a pain as you need to separately ubderstabd it (like try using the flatpak cli... wtf like?)and systemd remaking everythin, dbus causing bugs all this makes troubleshooting impossible and is what led to windows 10
