Critical thinking is 'white supremacy' these days. I am fairly defiant when it comes to masking now. "Unmasked El Paso" is a local facebook group that is testing the waters by politely walking into local establishments without a mask and documenting the experience. Many places are now allowing people to make their own decisions whether to wear it or not. @ThomasWic I carry a mask and if anyone says anything, I smile and put it on like I’m some forgetful old woman. But here’s the thing - where I live, nobody says anything. You want to wear a mask? Fine. You don’t want to wear a mask? That’s ok too. Our restaurants are even posting signs that say “masks not required but recommended.” I also don’t think people who don’t want the vaccine deserve to be called “anti-vaxers.”

When with my wife I wear to keep peace but myself no mask.But I am not an asshole, I walk into a establishment without a mask and most of the time I am never approached so I win.But when I am approached, I just share my non hurtful words and put the mask on. My belief is the confrontation starts when they approach me, it's my decision if I want to continue it. So again I win!

@ThomasWic I stopped wearing a mask in stores in October. I live in Florida so it’s easier. The only place I will wear a mask is in the doctors office. If a store tells me I have to wear a mask. I leave the store. I totally respect their rights as a private business but I will take my business elsewhere. Since October I’ve never been confronted. I’m very kind and pleasant. Everyone I’ve come in contact with are friendly. I do carry a mask in my purse just in case. But I’ve never worn it.

I followed @ThomasWic advice a while back and ordered a breathable mesh mask. The kind with exhalation vents. It came with three thick activated carbon filters. If you don't use the filters, air just passes right through the black fabric like it isn't even there and no one can tell. It doesn't even make my face warm. I live in Chicago which has a mask mandate that imposes penalties on the business owner if their customers aren't masked so not using a mask when shopping isn't an option.

@StevenDouglasI have gone to work each day throughout the pandemic.EVERY day for the last year, I walk through the foot bath to kill virus on my shoes...scan my forehead with a thermometer mounted on the wall...walk through the blue light gateway to kill germs on my clothes...N95 on for a full 8 -10 hours...swab my nose for a covid quick test 2x per week.Now, we continue to do all this with nearly 87% vaccinated.I feel fatigued. Had to apply for my retirement and answer the question of an elderly lady who filled out the form on the computer for more than an hour. Had to be concentrated because it was about how much money I would get monthly for the rest of my life.The office head came in every 20 min to check on us. Our masks had fallen to the chin and we had to push them up. So I did not manage to handle this boss lady too well.
