@MMA Years ago for fun I made some "supercharged" vanilla extract using vodka and vanilla beans.A month later I replaced with the vanilla beans with fresh ones (and a little more vodka) and made paste of the ones I took out. Repeated that process for a year. The resulting extract was amazing. Extract Concentrate. Take the lid off and step back, the aroma was so intense, so beautiful. Very little needed for recipes.

@Debradelai @StevenDouglas This looks marvelous!I had a dear Brazilian friend who made a type of flan with cream cheese, which was lovely. She offered to bring it to one of my dinner parties; I happily accepted. When it was time, I went to turn it out onto a plate; it was, unfortunately, a curdled mess. She yelled at me for ruining her flan, lol. I didn't have the heart to tell her it happened when she baked it, apologized, and served it in soup bowls.Next time I had her bring flowers, lol.

@Give_Me_Liberty @StevenDouglas @Debradelai I use the Costco, Kirkland brand. As with most of their products it's quite good and at an excellent price, which was helpful when vanilla prices skyrocketed a couple of years ago. No matter the price, I was not willing to go with the artificial! I tried out Mexican vanilla then because it was much more reasonably priced at that time. It wasn't bad, but not exactly what I wanted.
