@aino @fluffy I can understand imperial to be more "real life obvious/analogous" but to have all measurements and scale to work together without complex conversion is :blobcatjustright:

@duponin they are when used intelligently. Putting 6 tiny roundabouts right after each other is not :blobcatgoogly: At least that's what they do here in the netherlands. And don't get me started on those wonky multi-lane roundabouts with the inconsistent exits :celscaredbadeline:

@aino @duponin right, it's not bad. It was a good move in the 1800s. In todays world, with high speed computing and unit invariant computation? caring about it at all has the same mood as being a big bang theory fan.Probably my least favorite part about europe is eggs in packs of ten. How do I split it up across 3 or 4 days?

@fristi @duponin > multi-lane roundaboutsWhen I built one like that in Cities: Skylines, nobody used the second lane but when I made it so that when you're on the outer lane you HAVE to use the exit that kinda resulted in just more jam for WHATEVER reason :ablobcatcry: *is really disturbed by Cities: Skylines, no, no more trucks, please, I am scared*

@fluff @fristi @duponin this is accurate, nobody uses the inner ring irl either. Because, why would they, it's then pain to get to the exit when you're getting near

@aetios @fristi @duponin I don't get it. Why do they ALL stay on the outer lanes when they DON'T want to take the next exit from that street? WHY do you ALWAYS have to MANUALLY forbid them to drive the whole street on the outer lane?!? :ablobcatcry:Why is there no way to get rid of endless traffic jam? :ablobcatcry:Why is this game so mean?! :ablobcatcry:

@fluff @aetios @duponin wasn't there a mod that fixed some of this? I remember having a few mods installed to fix wonky stuff with roads and add a bunch of advanced stuff for controlling traffic.

@fristi @aetios @duponin I used mods too for controlling the roads better (for example forbidding the trucks to go through the living areas) but my point is that its really annoying HAVING to use these mods in the first place cause its just stupid without them

@fluff @aetios @duponin yea, especially the lane-behavior could see some improvements. I remember someone once having built a kind of test setup just to display how stupid the AI can be at times, like when you have a huge 6-lane avenue with a big junction and they all park up on the right-most lane with the other ones remaining mostly empty.I think that same guy also built some sort of "advanced roundabout" which looked like a massive clusterfuck but weirdly enough worked out right. Not sure if it's still on the workshop.

@fristi @aetios @duponin I don't like it that this game isn't a city building simulator from a certain point onIt's no longer "build more energy sources so you get enough power!!" or "build more schools!!", it's ONLY a game of "why don't these cars use the other lines when they don't plan on taking the next exit from that street?! what the hell why do I MANUALLY have to forbid them to stay on the outer lanes?! How is that gameplay?!?!?!? Why am I playing traffic jam simulator now instead of a city builder?!?! I thought I was building a city, not fighting a ruthless WAR against the trucks from the industrial area!!!!!! WHAT DID THIS BECOME?!?!? "

@fluff @aetios @duponin I wish you could have adjacent cities like in sim city 3000 so you could build big residential and commercial districts with no industry and have the neighboring town deal with the industrial demand. That worked surprisingly well at times.
