@brandon Why duplicity over something like restic?

@soupglasses No particular reason, I didn't even know restic existed. Why should I use restic over duplicity? A few things I don't really care about: Type of encryption: beyond a certain point, my threat model is mitigatedEase of setup: The amount of time doesn't matter, I will spend 6 days setting it up if it means I don't have to manually do backups or worry about them being done"speed": Whether it's the max file transfer speed, or speed of encryption/compression

@brandon I mostly chose restic because borgbackup didnt natively support b2/s3 backends. Also has nice features like mountable backups, deduplication and a really nice CLI. The last one being the big seller after loosing and missing backups many times with Duplicati. Which was my previous backup systemSadly dont know much about duplicity vs. restic. They seem to do similar things other tha restic being newer.

@soupglasses I like the mountable backups one there 🤔 That would be really useful as compared to having to expand an entire backup just to pull a few files. As much as --file-to-restore is useful with duplicity, it's not useful when you're not even sure what you're looking for. I may have to look into restic once I move back to Ubuntu server
