I don't use Brave but see people here swearing by it. Is this all true?https://practicaltypography.com/the-cowardice-of-brave.html(Also, the author delcares that he's not a fan of javascript in the first sentence and the site doesn't even load without javascript)

@thumb it’s mostly true. don’t care much for the personal attacks on Eich, but yeah Brave is a bad company. they’ve done some shady things in the past, and will continue to do so.simple rule of thumb: don’t use a browser built by an adtech company.

@thumb I would like to point out a couple of things the author neglected to mention.1. Brave ads can be turned off (rather easily I might add). Although this turns it into any old chromium based web browser, which is nothing special.2. The idea is to solve the problem of people being able to pay for your data while still allowing advertisers to target ads. Brave does actually make your data private, which can be verified since it's open source. You do not have to trust the creator outright.
