I just watched a documentary about David Koresh and the Branch Davidians.As is so often the case in the US, both sides were in the wrong.Koresh was molesting and abusing kids, and the ATF and FBI did everything possible to ensure the hideous outcome we all saw.This was an apocalyptic cult. The way to approach them would have been for ONE UNARMED AGENT to ask politely if he or she could go in and talk.Koresh wanted publicity. He could easily have gotten it.

@ThomasWic I agree on all points. Any sane person would and should.I have an in-law who is difficult and abusive if you give them even the slightest bit of power or leverage. I had to guide my husband into pulling back from them and making sure we never depend or rely on them for anything. It meant breaking a lifetime of habits and patterns. He resisted because of guilt. I finally got through by pointing out that to affirm or enable sinful behavior is to cooperate with evil. That did it.
