       Sinister, very sinister 😕A centrally controlled digital currency means you:❌ Could have your "cash" deleted or expired at any time.❌ Won't be able to spend it without carrying a "smartphone" (government tracking device).❌ Every single transaction you make will be recorded by your government.❌ If it's decided by your government that you're a "problem", they could delete your account, meaning you couldn't earn, save, spend or buy necessary supplies such as food or medicines.

       @Matter good shout, but China is leading the way and I think other world governments are watching:https://www.reuters.com/world/china/china-expand-digital-yuan-experiments-central-bank-vice-governor-2021-04-18/The Chinese government obtained a large number of willing testers simply by offering free money. A centralized digital cash system would help governments block use of things like Bitcoin, if they so wished.
