To recap:The military is essentially making sure that our constitutional form of government remains unharmed.The military is NOT making policy.My theory is that Trump and Pence have been integrated into the armed forces so that there's no danger of them violating the Logan act.They aren't private citizens. They're part of the current government.More circumstantial evidence that we're in devolution is no cuts in defense spending.

The Democrats were pushing for a 10 percent cut.Now, Biden is calling for an INCREASE in defense spending, but the press says that in inflation-adjusted dollars, this is a DECREASE.I don't see it.The inflation rate hasn't dramatically increased from 2020 to 2021.From what I can tell, the press is being fed disinformation, which it repeats like a tape recorder, since journalists are no longer able to think.

On the surface, it seems that the election theft was a catastrophe for the country, but if I'm correct, it means that Trump is FAR MORE powerful now than ever before.And I hope we can all agree that he's just about the only person around who can be trusted with that amount of power.In my own life, what seemed like catastrophes are turning out to be blessings, over and over.It's the same with the country.We're not headed for civil war.

@ThomasWic Things do seem somewhat wonky. The left rants and the media is pushing hard on gun violence and yet there is a calmness that is not easy to explain. I'm convinced the military is working hard to minimize collateral damage while cleaning up quietly.

On the one hand, it's shocking how credulous people are.And they let fake news destroy them.But the bright side is that things like devolution can happen almost in plain sight.My guess is that this is a transitory period.I myself don't know or care about almost anything happening on social media.The reason I'm studying these relatively dark topics is to gauge how much people let them impact their lives.

When people think everything sucks, they become apathetic.This cedes tons of influence to those of us who DON'T think everything sucks.Smaller groups can have a much bigger impact.It helps if you can not worry at all about those who refuse to be mollified.I feel much better without my brother in my life. We simply returned to the dynamic we always had.Now that I've finished moving everything into my new house, I have to wait one final time for someone to get their act together.

@ThomasWic Absolutely !!! on every single thing you said. Have had loved ones who think it's really weird that I don't commemorate death days of family members. Beyond the first year or two, I'd prefer to remember their lives, not their deaths.Dwelling on the past, beyond making sure you've learned your lessons, is such a waste of vision.Am ignoring large chunks of the present because it's just stupid.Thank you for your threads, they are not.

@Cdubois @ThomasWic Focusing on life in all its manifestations is such a reward--this past winter, when the entire visible world was frozen solid for a whole week with leaden skies and subfreezing temps, it was watching the birds that kept me enthralled.Their colors, their behavior with each other, their feeding habits- it was absorbing. Found myself spending all my entertainment time watching them. Family got a little worried when I started translating the bird sounds.Then the sun came out.

@ThomasWic I have very smart twin teen grandsons. They take advanced classes. Since the start of the pandemic, though, they've simply quit trying. I ask them what's going on and they say "No motivation. I mean, what's the point?" These kids have been told for over a year that we're either all gonna die from COVID or Jesus is coming any minute. Now if you're 15 and you're being told this for over a year, of course you're wondering why should you bother? One way or the other, it's all over. Smh
