       Some years ago my friend and I decided to run a small experiment. We created about 150 small patches for various open source projects, it was mostly either documentation, small bugfixes, or some trivial while not totally useless features. We then created two new github accounts, one with a male name, one with a female name. Both had stock photos for avatars, generic profile info, etc. Then we randomly assigned those patches to these accounts and submitted them as pull requests over the next six weeks :blobfoxscience: Changes from a female account were accepted quicker (I think, it was about 20% on average) and were less scrutinized than from a male one :comfyjoy: Perhaps, we should repeat this experiment except with more accounts. Maybe add some racial or trans agenda to this stuff :comfyeyes:

       Btw I considered publishing this in a scientific journal, but then we decided that academia can go and fuck itself for the most part.

       @muhlinus real females, probably. On the other hand, guys who pretend to be females to satisfy their ulterior motives have it easy.
