After using Gmail for over 5 years, I think I'm finally going to quit. Just tired of ads and spam in my inbox. I want a fresh start in general.I'm currently trying Tutanota. It's pretty good, but I'm want to look at some other platforms before I settle on it. I'm open to any recommendations.

@PetabyteStudios I have a tutanota account for online sign ups etc and stuff that will attract spam/get stolen. Very good. but I pay for another more compatible mail host for personal stuff (so I can have them on my mail clients)tho the situation now is that some brain dead services will whitelist the big hosters for email sign ups so do prepare for that.

@metalune @PetabyteStudios I guess I assume that because they're quite a lefty country that they'll clamp down on more and more forms of right-wing speech (with some excuse or other)

@joegrimer @PetabyteStudios I mean.. I feel like the privacy-related laws in germany are better than in most other countries, at this point in time schools are no longer allowed to use things like MS Teams anymore, we now use Moodle with Big Blue Button or Jitsi Meet

@metalune @PetabyteStudios I was not aware of that. I guess the explicit banning of certain symbols (whether they be deplorable or not) got my guard up.
