       I have a terrifying fear this will not end nicely for myself or any detractors. I may be condemned to a life of misery and sadness after this. Doesn’t feel like a surprise. Feels like the expose of a cult.

       Many of us gave the best years of put lives for this. I moved to the US at 25 to live in relative poverty for a while. Because I wrote and produced a short piece with @stephenfry — about GNU. It’s embarrassingly old and silly now. It’s unjust that the @fsf keeps doing any of this

       @mattl Dude, we know each other because of free software, but I don't think of you as an FSF person.  I mostly think of you as a dry wit, an astute commenter on matters of freedom, and a person with impeccable taste in movies.  You are very much your own man. Nobody who has met you can think otherwise.Your story will have many chapters.  Nothing FSF or RMS does can stop you from offering your talents to the world.
