Despite what the reviewers says, the movie IS anti-religion.I don't practice any religion, but I'm a theist: I firmly believe in God.In my experience, those who denigrate religion are terrified of death.Atheism is--for the most part--an attempt to deny mortality.Now, we need to get our definitions straight.Atheism is the belief that God does not exist.Not believing in God is NOT atheism. Non-belief is non-belief.Atheism is a stated belief in the non-existence of God.

The Irish movie reviewer makes an astonishing admission:He can't bear to be alone with his own thoughts.You know what THAT means?He can't bear to be alive.This is catastrophic. It's an impenetrable barrier that forever separates a person from peace of mind.I myself prefer silence. Currently I'm researching new facets of my memoir and new information on World War One weaponry and tactics.I've made several breakthroughs on both fronts.

I listen to Youtube videos as I do the drudgery of examining online photo archive.The job of looking at 13,000 images is made easier when your brain is also occupied by the analysis of others' ideas.Film reviews are a great way to gauge opposing viewpoints. I never listen to political analysis because the analysts never say anything I find compelling.When it comes time to writer I do it in perfect silence. Like right now.My concentration is entirely on my words.

Peace of mind GREATLY outweighs happiness.Without peace of mind, you live in a state of permanent torture.Acceptance and accommodation are the keys to achieving peace of mind. I just spent three days looking through boxes of junk covered in 40 years' worth of dust--greasy black dust from the smog that once blanketed our valley.Nothing but the failed attempts by my parents and siblings to capture some level of happiness.It wasn't hard to do.

I'm not out for revenge, but I get to speak my mind.To myself.Part of it is being forced to do all this coolie work due to the failures of others.At least now it's totally proven that my Vegas brother has to ship all the warehoused junk to HIS hometown and go through it there. He's in no shape to do it here, as he wanted. I'd have to put my life on hold for ANOTHER two years, as I did while he fixed what he knew all along was HIS new house.

@ThomasWic that was a good poem about trying to reach the horizon. several times when i've seen a dark cloud putting out lots of rain that looks close by, i've tried to get to it, and have never reached it. it has always been further away than it looked. damn! but of course, i've many times by coincidence driven straight into rain when it was on my path. not the same as hunting it down, but it's still appreciated and exciting.

As an oncology nurse practitioner and a previous nurse in all aspects of cancer treatment, including end of life care, I’ve witnessed many with peace of mind and quite a few without. I think you are correct when you say those who are atheist fear death. They’re terrified of it. I’ve seen walking dead, for lack of a better way to describe it. They will fight, fight, fight, until their very flesh is rotting before our eyes. 1 of 2

@ThomasWic "Keys to locks"... I guess this is something I kind of did, in regard to my health... The problem is that early in life, I didn't even know what the "locks" were....I was not exactly healthy when I was young... I was awful in PE, my attention span was awful, didn't do particularly well in school... With what I know and achieved up to now, I sometimes wish I knew what I know now, and do it over again... But also realize that it's impossible- "Wisdom" only develops with time.(Cont.)

@Wolfmoon I saw both my parents through their truly horrible deaths. Had to physically fight my father, who was insane with terror.My mother was bitter AND terrified, so she deliberately crapped herself every chance she got.Part of their deaths was resentment at ME for living. So they deliberately made it as hard as possible on me. I never "got over" it, but I accommodated it. Accommodation is a choice. We all die. I'm not afraid, angry, or bitter.I'm at peace with it.

@ThomasWic Ken Burns’s new bio of Hemingway is the horror story that comes from that lack of peace. I couldn’t stop watching it of course. Train wrecks are entertaining. I never really appreciated Hemingway and after watching that I dislike him and feel sorry for his family.

@ThomasWic It's funny you mention this. I "save" BB and other QV, vids for when I have chores, long drives, etc. It's amazing how much I unconsciously get done, bc I'm focusing on the convos instead. I line up chores to do while listening. When the convo is over, chores are over too, until next convo😃.
