@Zealous it doesn't yet :^)Creating a database with the movies you watched or plan to watch. You give the title and date, it enriches meta-infos like description and cover via IMDb or Anime Planet.Tries to resolve the issue where one forgets a movie title, but remembers the cover or actress.

@ultem what makes it different to imdb other than the forgetting movie title part and how does it infer movie title from cover description and actress? are those manually inputted or taken from meta-info?

@Zealous It’s just a programming exercise. But the meta-infos imported from 3rd parties will be fully searchable with filters. For the example below you could for example remember that it was about a family named Kim. Or that you watched it in 2020. Or that it was a very recent movie.{id: 11,date: '5-6-2020',title: 'Parasite',year: 2019,description: 'The struggling Kim family sees an opportunity when the son starts working for the wealthy Park family....'actors: 'Kang-ho Song, Sun-kyun Lee' image: 'https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BYWZjMjk3ZTItODQ2ZC00NTY5LWE0ZDYtZTI3MjcwN2Q5NTVkXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyODk4OTc3MTY@._V1_.jpg', }

@nekojanai First I did not find a good source for neko images. Then I came to the conclusion that image bots on Fedi become an issue. :blobfoxcomfy:

@ultem @Zealous That's a pretty cool excercise. Are you making a frontend for it? What language do you use? Shouldn't actors be an array?

@kartoffelcheetah @Zealous I'm scraping from an IMDb suggestions endpoint first. This is not their approved API. There they provide actors like this. But I also have their offline database as next step.Backend is Express.js, frontend React.
