I share my initial thoughts on the #Nokia105 and #Nokia106 and why I think they’re both terrible phones and why I wouldn’t by a #Nokia feature phone again.Gaming channel: https://youtube.com/GamingWithWerewolves

@chriswere the S30+ platform is shameful but if you want true disappointment get a Nokia phone with KaiOS. Preinstalled FB and WhatsApp and Google stuff AND a few games that you cannot remove without a visit to the bananahackers website. All that, and the texting experience is lousy especially if you need to switch between languages.

@n0btc The thing is, my opinion on Nokia has been soured. If I can't buy a phone not knowing whether there are ads on the dashboard, I'll just buy from a company that's more trust worthy.

@chriswere if you don't mind a senior phone, it seems that the (y2020) ~€30 Prophone PM-778 (also branded as Hesdo or Fysic) looks like a honest feature phone. Senior feature bunus, it has a programmable SOS button on the backside to fix those emergency meetings with queue up to 5 of your friends. if they don't answer it will SMS them and jump to the next defined number XDSee PM-778-Manual-GB-v1.2.pdf for it's menu structureOwned a Profone XF myself, audio q. is not great compared to smartphone, but will do(old y2011 model and IP57 may take that part), still sold for ~€50, but it seems to be changed quite a bit when I check their site for that model, now supporting dual sim, SD card, bluetooth, having a potato camera and such, so uncomparable, the PM-778 seems minimal as can be, or PM-25 including potato cam.

@chriswere The ads don't bother me, I am not tempted to purchase. I use the new Nokia 3310 as my main phone now. I still have a couple of androids in my car and closet and I only ever use them if I need to. The Nokia's hard plastic is shit to use and for that reason I would never play any games on it or use it for any type of distraction, it's for calls only. I have been happier and more productive since I switched. I just wish it had a better camera.

Nokia and Blackberry used to be the trendsetter when it comes to phones, now they are lagging behind.

I still have an old Nokia 1616 (RH-125) as a emergency backup phone. There are only two things worth mentioning about it: battery lasts 2 weeks (well, it does nothing, so it could keep for a month) and a keyboard with T9. I miss those for typing.
