Got my film back!! My 16mm camera test came in the mail today. I’m pretty happy with it overall. The film I have seems to be in decent shape. My exposure was decent throughout the test and the contrast was pretty good when I was using the 1.4 yellow filter. This means my analog light meter works as well! The lens moved pretty smooth too. Wish it was wider but I can always figure something out later.

Not sure if uploading videos to masto really works that well but here is a sample if anyone wants to see. The main issue is the strobe effect. Not the flicker from the projection and recording but the almost once per second flash that happens. I’m assuming this is from the film jumping around in the gate and or my loop not being big enough?

The contrast actually looks way nicer in person. In the video it looks a little blown out. If anyone here shoots movie film and knows what’s up, lemme know! I’m worried my camera is just feeding the film at an inconsistent speed.

@parvifolia I feel like there's a lot that could cause that effect. Does the slack in the feed-side or take-up seem to be jerking around? Rad film

Some stills from the camera test. These are just quick shots of the projection, no scan or anything.

@grumpy I’m not sure which side it’s jerking from. It seems to change each time I load it. I guess I need more practice? This was all shot on a Krasnogorsk 3
