Brainwashers offer a superficially appealing and eventually deadly alternative: surrender to them and their views. But as a man who values logic, this was a time when I realized logic had no effect.C would 'wake up' at times, but then they would show up. The group in this case was called Children of God. The friend in this case was socially awkward and didn’t quite fit in in the church circle we shared. She was looking for community and hadn’t found it until they came along and love bombed her into submission. I still wonder what happened to her afterward.

There were some girls too who joined for the experience.The girl in question (also C) was the one member of the unit who was not ethnic Mennonite.
