So I’ve been playing around with the WP 2021 theme on my staging site. It’s pretty nice and works well, but why the hell is it necessary to have MAHOOSIVE page/post titles?It wastes so much vertical space and reduces above the fold content to practically zero. Easily fixed in CSS, but this seems like a ludicrous default.

@kev I cannot confirm “easily fixed” - I spent half an hour fiddling with variables only to find it was still huge in the editor. Ended up going back to Twenty Sixteen.

@teek_eh I’m. It too worried about fixing it in the editor. I’m more concerned about the front end. I’d it got annoying in the editor, I’d just upload an editor stylesheet and bypass it completely.

@kev The last 4 or 5 WP default themes have had fairly ludicrous defaults of various kinds. A generous take would be that they want to encourage you to experiment.A cynical take would be that a wide-eyed designer's work didn't get properly reviewed.

@kev Out of risk of being unnecessarily contrarian, "above the fold" has been pretty much rejected as a viable marketing goal.The first thing people do when they hit a new webpage is scroll. Often before even reading what's above the fold. Subheads that interrupt scrolling are the new golden goose.

@kev yeah, that was the first thing I changed after enabling the theme as well 😅The theme overall looks great though! Also one of the lighter themes in terms of CSS and JS 👏

@trhr yeah, I get that (I didn't take it as contrarian - it's a good discussion point) - it was more referring to the UX. Personally, I prefer to have the content front and centre as soon as the page loads, without the need to scroll.What can I say, I'm lazy. 😃
