I've neglected to put pronouns in my zoom name for two days now. I wonder how long it will take for the teacher to speak to me directly about it instead of just announcing to everyone multiple times to remember to add them in or if at least for this, it's all bark and no bite. . :awesome:

@Nebula @Lilitu I think many habitually try to latch onto whatever they think is the most progressive way of speaking/phrasing things and as of right now, pronouns is it... until TRAs collectively decide that demanding pronouns is like pressuring people to "out" themselves and was a trick made up by "TERFs" because that's how the pattern usually goes.

I think the amount of nonbinaries or half-binaries outnumber the original flavor of trans that most of these X words were made with them in mind. Being nonbinary is questioned less if you change literally nothing about yourself, even "your pronouns." While I've encountered dozens of nonbinary people (the vast majority of whom were women) I've only encountered one TIM in the workplace/at school.

I have encountered lots of women who feel discomfort, usually as a result of some amount of trauma, being pointed to and called a woman, girl, lady, ma'am, female, etc. So they conclude that they really must not be any of that after all.Also, daily, I'll see people in a different forum I'm on say stuff like "I'm AFAB and I only like to wear dresses sometimes... but when I don't want to wear a dress, I'd feel uncomfortable being forced to wear one. I also don't have any strong feelings about pronouns so I know that I'm not cis... could I be nonbinary/demi-girl/genderfluid/agender?"What's actually amusing about people who ID as nonbinary in general and people who ID as agender specifically, is that the only thing differentiating "us" from "them" is that they still tend to want to fit into the gender identity narrative while we tend to reject the concept altogether. The commonality is generally, "I'm just me and I just so happen to exist in a sexed body and I recognize that this impacts how I move through the world." There are also soooo many who have trouble stating the difference between "agender" and "cisgender" as well. So it's really just a whole lot of people trying to fall in line and are at any given moment probably a strong breeze away from stumbling into bigot territory.
