       @realcaseyrollinsShe's basically asking us to absolve her stepson of his responsibility for (or his agency over) his actions.The follow-up question is: does someone carry responsibility for his death?My view is that even if he had MH troubles he's still responsible for himself, unless there was a change of powers of attorney. The question posed here is “should we say people ‘committed suicide’ if they killed themselves”. Well from a semantic approach, it is correct to say. Suicide is an act, and to “commit” means, in a raw form, that you’ve performed or determined to perform an action.There’s another angle to this, which is, does this turn of phrase cause any real world harm? It’s not at all demonstrated here.
