So, remember the other day when I said I was ordering hard copies of Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead" and "Atlas Shrugged" as well as "1984" because I was afraid they would be disappeared? Well, I did buy them. Now Dr Seuss is REALLY being disappeared, so I just went online and bought a boxed set of 20 of his children's tales, because 6 of them will no longer be published. I figure that someday, they will be worth a fortune. Or not. Either way, I am very glad I impulsively bought them.

@oystergirl I got all my books from the library growing up. As an adult, I own thousands in hard and soft cover, but I have at least 7000 more on Kindle. I guess I don't really own them at all.

@wziminer My sister is the hard cover library hound. I read about a book a week I would say. I always have to have a book, so I keep my favorite ones. I don't have the space for a big library. My sister did but now she doesn't and thus all her books are packed up in storage. Books are like air to me. I need them.

@umad80 Did they fight for Huckleberry Finn, which has been banned for racism? "To Kill a Mockingbird" for the same reason? Because if they did, kudos to them. If that is the case, I am surprised they didn't fight for this, too. TBH, I had no idea about the Seuss controversy until my MOTHER told me about it yesterday, so I went hunting for it today.

@wziminer Both books are listed as a challenged/banned book. Though they don't seem to come out in defense of them, either. They just have them listed, with explanations.Which is at least something... I haven't found much on Dr. Suess from them.
