@flugennock Not sure I should mention this, but I recently attended one bitcoin meetup. Of the 5 ppl there, 3 were the organizers. There was a btc atm - 14% premium+$10.00 fee for using the machine (which made btc >$55K). Ayn Rand books on a shelf behind the head guy. Nothing happened, only local gossip. One man came in to use the atm to send btc to his sister; he announced this as he did it. I think you are right about btc.

@flugennock Apparently local businesses there (NH) accept it, including the convenience store/shop with a 5% disc if using btc.

@FriendofBernie Noplace I know of offhand here in DC accepts it.Also, there are certain aspects of how it's "created" — and the whole "culture" around it — that just scream LOOK THE FUCK OUT.

@flugennock I agree. I was just tagging along at that meetup, curious. A few years ago I was interested, but now it just seems silly. The people promoting it Have It and it's gone from a few hundred/coin to 50K, how would anyone new to it start? It's for the ppl who need to spend it now, I think.

@FriendofBernie ...and speaking of "marks" — I know I asked this just yesterday, but I REALLY DO want to know if what those guys pulled with the GameStop shares was actually illegal in any way, or if all this pants-pissing is because all these professional stock-trading types and hedge funders are just pissed off because they got punked so bad.At least, that's the vibe I'm getting from the Bosses' Media.
