COFFEE SIPHONNot the fastest way to make coffee, but it is delicious and, for me, the most cathartic. Boiling water bubbles up through a rubber gasket-sealed Pyrex tube, through a spring-loaded filter in to an upper chamber with coffee. Stir, turn off burner, and as the lower chamber cools it creates a vacuum that sucks the coffee back down through the filter. Remove upper Pyrex chamber and pour. Great for when I'm feeling good, deep in thought, and want to world to slow down.

@StevenDouglas Addendum:Sometimes it's the process that is so cathartic, relaxing, meaningful. Kind of like a Japanese tea ceremony. I love my French press coffee maker and the Chemex too because of the involvement in making it. You don't just push a button and walk away.

@Dawnz You have my envy, not many people even know those exist. The reason it makes the best coffee ever: The temperature of the water coming up the pipe is ALWAYS naturally well below boiling and optimal for making non-bitter coffee.

@StevenDouglas worse coffee in my opinion are the coffee pots you put a coffee pod in bleh.Only benefit is you get something that resembles coffee, and no grounds to clean up.Mine has become a dust collector π I have a large coffeepot collection..I drink coffee 22/7 rofl

@Dawnz @StevenDouglas Perculators were my back in the day memory. Every one had one and the smell of the coffee while you had to wait kinda made it better when you finally got that first cup.

@StevenDouglas @Dawnz @NotJustMe Iβve never seen a coffee siphon before. I like the concept.Iβm looking to buy a new coffee maker and Iβm finding all are made in China. Bunn is one that buys parts out of US, but assembled here in the US. Iβll definitely check this Hario coffee siphon out. Thanks

@StevenDouglas Thanks for posting! It's the first time I've seen anything like it.It's right down my alley - I love stuff like that. It reminds me of a chemistry lab experiment.A while back I started drinking occasionally after being off it for years. Just the odd cup now and again. I decided that the easiest, most delicious cup I could make is with the pour-through Hario V60.

@CancerousToeJam The coffee I'm using now is good old fashioned Vietnamese "corn roasted" coffee. Robusta with about 25% oil-roasted ground corn meal mixed in. It used to be called "fake" coffee because it was just a way to defraud people by adding in fillers. But, as it turns out, it's DELICIOUS. Now it's more above board. Everyone knows what they're getting and actually choosing it as a taste preference.
