I just had to install Microshafts dot net on my linux box to build btcpay server.... or I have to use docker....(already tried, I pretty much hate docker at this point).I feel like this server definitely has aids now....

@Zachary_BTC "letsencrypt-nginx-proxy-companion" requirements:- host publicly reachable on both port 80 and 443.- If AAAA records set, the host must be publicly reachable over IPv6 on port 80 and 443.- Check your firewall rules and do not attempt to block port 80 as that will prevent http-01 challenges from completing.- The (sub)domains you want to issue certificates for must correctly resolve to the host.- Your DNS provider must answer correctly to CAA record requests.

@Zachary_BTC if your server is way slower after running btcpay server, its probably because bitcoind and lnd eat away all your "disk io".

@mk Well I was hosting it on AWS and followed the instructions but I get no response like the link is dead. Ports on both firewalls are open, normally it will just think but this wont resolve at all like the nginx service wasnt running.Docker to me requires even more knowledge than just setting up the server normally. Now, I'm just having trouble with the bitcoin rpc cookie/bitcoin.conf file. The btc pay docs have me setup an admin account so i figured it was permissions related...

@Zachary_BTC "Docker to me requires even more knowledge than just setting up the server normally."only if you run into problems.. else its pretty dead simple running docker apps.

@Zachary_BTC "Now, I'm just having trouble with the bitcoin rpc cookie/bitcoin.conf file. The btc pay docs have me setup an admin account so i figured it was permissions related..."sounds like a problem with btcpay server and not docker. all you need to know about docker to solve this:all you data (including log files) is in /var/lib/docker/volumes/

@Zachary_BTC "b9ffc73 -- [HEAD] Attempt to fix btcpay-setup (28 hours ago)"there might be problems with btcpay-setup atm...either wait for a stable version or try to find a older stable.if you need it right now, you should talk to btcpay server devs here:https://chat.btcpayserver.org/

@mk Right. I have used it successfully in the past but i've been in dependency hell on numerous occasions. Still jaded lol. I will try not to hate so hard. I wish everything was as easy as just telling it to work like docker can do some times.
